There are many disk burning utilities which lack certain features. They are not critical, but your work would go much faster if they were included. Besides gBurner's many burning features, you will find many more tools. You can do mostly anything, from advanced tasks, like adding boot information or converting disk images, all the way to simple ones, like ejecting or loading a drive. Although it comes with so many functions, the software is lightweight, which means that it does not take up too much disk space and it will not slow down your computer.

The setup file is only 1.77 Mb large. Once you run it, you only need to click a button to start installing. The process will not take long and when it is done, you may tick a few options to place a shortcut on your desktop or associate the software with ISO images.

You will have to access different options categories, according to what type of data you want to burn. A series of menus can be expanded, on the left side of the interface, to reveal a number of icons. Clicking these icons will display different options, for burning data, audio or video files, images and more. Most icons display similar options. You will have to add your files to a list, organize them in folders, if you need to or select a burning device and click an option to start burning. Options for selecting a speed, verifying the written data, simulating the process or finalizing the disk are found on a separate window, after clicking the Burn option.

Additional functions are located on the lower edge of the interface and you can use them to specify what type of disk is present in your device or set the program to detect it automatically. It is also possible to add boot information from a file or a floppy disk and edit the disk's properties. You can select a file system, like ISO 9660, Joliet, XBOX DVD and others, enable file optimization, add labels, split the data into volumes, create a password and much more.

When creating a video disk, you will find folders and files added to the list by default. The files contain information about the disk and its entries, so you just need to place your videos in their designated folders. This is available for DVD videos as well. The AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders are already created so you only need to add the files and start burning.

gBurner can also copy disks, create ISO, BIN or CUE images and burn them. A very useful utility is the program's image converter. You can target a very wide range of disk images and convert them to ISO. It is also possible to create a bootable USB drive, using any type of image and various writing methods, such as FDD, ZIP, HDD or RAW. Other tools can be used to erase re-writable CDs or DVDs, access disk or drive information and eject or load a selected drive.

Pros

gBurner comes with a very large number of features. You can use it to create any type of disks, including bootable CDs or DVDs. Besides its burning capabilities, the software also provides tools for creating disk images, converting them or creating bootable USB drives. It will not take long to get used to the interface or its straightforward options.

Cons

The only inconvenience is a nag screen which appears on the screen when launching the program's trial version. Anything you need to burn CDs or DVDs is placed at your disposal, on gBurner's user friendly interface. Thanks to its many features, you may create anything, from simple data CDs to bootable disks or USB flash drives.
